New Reservoir provides additional capacity and resilience.
New Reservoir provides additional capacity and resilience for the town's long-term planning and growth plans
This new 31.595m diameter reservoir will improve the safety and quality of drinking water services and increase the water supply’s resilience. The additional 4.8 million litres of storage will provide stability for short and long-term risks and events, particularly climate change and natural hazards.
An investigation was completed and concluded that an additional 6000m3 treated water storage was required, which equates to 10 hours of storage for the year 2048 at peak day demand. Therefore, another reservoir was needed to provide capacity for growth in peak day demand and to optimise the treatment storage capacity. The new and existing reservoirs would provide 4000m3 and 2000m3 of treated water storage, respectively.
We worked with the client to ensure the new reservoir’s visual effect was minimal, blending into the surrounding native pine trees.
Reliant Solutions is proud to provide safer drinking water to our communities.
